CSHS-hydRology: Introduction to R

This free webinar is hosted by CSHS and is intended to provide a beginner introduction to the programming language R. The R-project is a free, open source language commonly used in statistical analysis, with a large and growing usage in water resources and hydrology. This interactive, hands-on webinar is intended to provide the new R user with all of the knowledge and resources required to become comfortable with the basic of R, and will include: * a brief presentation on ‘what is R?’, and an overview of basic R concepts, * provide an interactive, introductory tutorial for both new R users and new programmers, where commands can be tested and run during the webinar, * provide an overview of the multitude of help resources available, both externally and directly within R, * demonstrate the one-step procedure to easily install new R packages, providing the user with access to thousands of existing packages and functions, and * introduce the CSHS-hydRology package, an effort supported by Canadian hydrologists across the country. This webinar is intended to support new R users in their attendance of the CSHS-hydRology sessions and workshop at the 2019 CWRA National Conference, however, all current and prospective R users are invited to tune in!
